Shimla has its own beauty which really somehow attract me to visit this vicinity again and again. I first visited this hill station when I was child with my parents but I don’t remember that. After that I went with my friends while I was perusing my graduation from Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi University. As the total strength of our tourism batch was week we decided to join with our seniors otherwise our trip might had abandoned so for that we talk with our management and got permission for get tripped with our seniors. Majority people wanted to go to kajarao in Madya Pradesh. We made them convince and we fixed our destination as Shimla only.
We all were so excited that we all were very energetic at our bus, we were dancing, singing entertaining each other, we started our journey by 9 O clock and we got tiered by around 4 Am and had rest for a while. Our route was like this New Delhi, then Sonepat and Panipat after that Karnal for where we halted to be fresh up then Ambala and the way to panchkula then Solan after that Shimla. We didn’t go to Shimla first; our hotel was at Shilon Bagh at Kufri-Chail Road. We had our breakfast in Chail after that move to Mundaghat where our resort named ShilongBagh Resort was booked.
By afternoon we reached at Shilon Resort, I was really impressed with the resort. The ambiance was spectacular. Rooms were simply awesome. As soon as we entered the resort we went to the dining room, as we were really very much hungry. We had buffet system over there after having the lunch I was eager to explore the resort. Croquet, card room named Paploo Joint was amazing, there was a huge chess board at the terrace, gymnasium named Nirvana was also quite good. We spend much time in playing table tennis. There was a disco deck also which added boost to our night. Mountain covered with pine forest had added splendid beauty to the surrounding and the Churchandi peaks had added more beauty to the resort.
Early morning we got up and went for trekking a hill were we had to visit a temple named Manoon temple. From our resort it was around 3 hours trek and it is located at an amazing location where you can see whole Shimla as bird’s eye view. After this trekking we went to Kufri , Kufri Is a small hill station located near shimla. We reached but I didn’t liked that place because more than snow there was pony shit all around we had to cross over that shit and the shit was almost till our knees. We didn’t want to waste our time here so rushed to Shimla and went Shimla.
The natural beauty of Shimla reflects the beauty of nature which can’t be substitute anywhere else. While visiting you will get the answer why newly wedded couples choose Shimla as their honeymoon destination. The scenic beauty and greenery spread everywhere can make anyone fall in love and you would never want to remove your eyes from this ambiance. Even though we don’t get much time to explore as we reached Shimla late and only the sunset was most admirable to us. We had shopping from the mall road and had some beautiful snapshots. For my parents and friend I bought some souvenirs and we went back to our bus and left to Delhi. We had our dinner in Ambala at a restaurant named Mirchi, and the food was really amazing I enjoyed a lot. As we all got tiered while coming back everyone was sleeping. We reached back Delhi by 6 Am.

Happy World Tourism Day!!! September 27 is celebrated as World Tourism Day. Just celebrating it as any day is not the motto of tourism Day. Every year there is an agenda or theme which empowers the world to get protected or it can be say it leads a way to act something which protects the whole world. Tourism is one of the world's largest economic sectors and this year it has already taken one big step to protect sustainable energy for all. With perspective of protecting the sustainable energy new innovative clean energy solutions have been introduced. Important steps have already been taken towards the future by improving energy efficiency, and renewable energy technologies are increasingly being used in its operations. While helping to protect the planet, many of these steps are creating jobs and helping to lift people out of poverty.
Main aim of World Tourism Day is to create awareness among the humanity about the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value. Telling all of us to work together for our as well as for our next generation with United Nations Millennium Development Goals and to contribute a hope of liveliness to many lives.
In the past decades tourism has grown at its significant with improving a good standard of living and being a helping hand for many needy. Ensuring environmental sustainability is a must do activity. Therefore, it has act with climate change by reducing its emissions of harmful gas, which at present represent 5% of the total. However, tourism not only contributes to global warming: at the same time it can be said also a victim of it. When it comes to talk about “sustainable tourism”, we are not particular on one means; we have to analyze cultural, beach or adventure tourism. Every form and circumstances of tourism must necessarily be sustainable and should be taken into due consideration. It is a fallacious expectation to think that “an immense quantity of energy and resources are available, that it is possible to renew them quickly, hence the negative effects of the exertion of the natural order can be easily absorbed”.
Tourism depends on effective transportation and it is in the transportation industry where many of these innovations are most evident. With an perception of sustainable energy, The aviation industry is implementing new technologies that are reducing the overall weight of aircraft and consequently reducing the amount of fuel consumed. Commercial aircraft are also increasingly using bio fuels in their fuel mix. Large cruise ships have started using of renewable fuel.
Hotels around the world have also become much more energy saving conscious, with energy saving light bulbs showing the right path in many locations. Tour operators are promoting awareness of energy efficient procedures throughout their supply chains. With a clean energy solution we can have a drastic effect on the reduction of the carbon emissions generated by the tourist industry. Being such an enormous global industry, these reductions can make a symbloic difference worldwide.
It has been estimated that during 2012, around a billion international tourists are expected to travel. This presents a major challenge. It is seen as a time to promise to a more sustainable tourism sector, with a sustainable future for all.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, respond these thoughts when he thanked tourists for playing their part in offsetting their own carbon emissions, whether by choosing ecologically friendly destinations and providers, or simply by not having their towels laundered every day. These sustainable energy steps always benefit the world and not just the tourism industry said Mr Rifai (Secretary-General of UNWTO) and he urged all tourism stakeholders, whether they be governments, businesses, or tourists themselves, to play their part in helping to achieve the UN's sustainable energy goals. All of the sectors involved (businesses, local communities, governments and tourists) must be aware of their respective responsibilities in order to achieve sustainable forms of tourism. Collaboration between all the parts involved is necessary.

The departure date is getting closer, so as the feeling of
losing someone really close to my heart is also making me deserted. The loss is heavy on my heart, it’s
like you loved someone and losing them. Maybe you hoped for things and
they just never panned out. Maybe the people you admired most turned out to be
other people entirely. All this is because my dearest friend Aswathy is going abroad to
Dubai.
With the help of internet I know I can be connected to her. But the
distance between us is sometimes hard to take, isn't it? When she is with
me it was easier to go out for a cup of coffee or give her a hug. Today even
sitting with her and moment when talking nothing feels precious, but when she
will go, internet or facebook won’t replace her absence.
It’s a crazy dilemma to say that missing someone makes us happy because in a
way it does. Why not? Missing someone only means that you have someone special
to miss contrary to not missing someone you really don’t have. And It’s also true
that missing someone can be very hard and hurtful at times, which is most of
the time apart from that special someone. Because you always wish that you have
that close and hold them tight. Missing someone messes our brains up, sometimes
we think of unthinkable things that I would not want to mention anymore. We
wish that they were thinking of us constantly the way we are thinking of them
too.

We feel hooked when we think that someone who you care will not be there with
you tomorrow. You start feeling from that moment itself that something's
missing and for some reason you're feeling empty. I guess that's sign that
you're starting to develop feelings towards that missing person. Now just
hoping with one array of wisdom that, missing
someone gets easier everyday because even though you are one day further from
the last time you saw them, you are one day closer to the next time you will.
Am gona miss you, really gona miss u badly.

After finishing your readings, you just close your book and
after putting it away, and starts doing some other works. Still you’re
smiling and laughing by recalling the incidence happened in the story you just read.
Same thing happened in our daily life, when the book is closed but the story
doesn’t get over. A memory resurfaces. Maybe it's a song that reminds you.
Sometimes it's a flash of memory. A place you went to, a smell that conjures it
all back up. It's the knife that twists and reminds you that under your smile,
there is a wound that is not yet fully healed. Today am writing about this
because am now missing my college days and many incidents is revolving inside
my mind as a flashback.Entering to a life of professionalism is something
like losing virginity in teen age itself. Before entering to a
professional life we had a short period of gratification named college life. I
spend my college life in Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi University, and was
really an unforgettable experience for me. I made lots of friend among which
some are really close to my heart. College is a platform to mould you to a
better individual. In college bunking seems to be an unavoidable phenomenon,
and I have bunked many classes and spent my time with my fellow friend in
canteen or we have gone any place which come to our mind. Now I don’t know why
am thinking about my college days but I am sure that am really missing those
days.
Today the life has taken a drastic turn where we are in a same routine of life,
daily woke up, doing workout then going for work and coming back and go to bed.
This was not the way we were earlier life was witty. We had enough time to
spend with each other, or connected somehow and were always updating each
others status. Or it would be better to say that if anyone wants to know what
or where my best friend is simply ask me and I would rather tell better than him.
But
everything has change with the breeze, today if I check my mobile phone I would
find rarely those numbers. At that time many people told me that this enjoyment
is till you are in the college and when the gate of college is closed for you,
there will be only selected friends who will be standing along with you, other
will be busy with their family or some other engagement which will never end.
At that time it was hard to digest and even I didn’t take their words
seriously. Today I just recall the sweet memories shared with lots of smiles
with my friends but the same time feels bad when those are not around me.
When I started
thinking about the distance between us. I just understand that it is just
because everyone, even am busy with my own life. In this busy life no
body can’t spare there valuable time. But this is not the way to life, without
enjoying our life. When I started thinking my perception has changed towards my
own life, and arise certain questions; why do we wait? Why do we hold back? Why do we let fear stop us from
saying the things our hearts beg us to say? The things that are sweetest, the
things that are kindest, the things that are the most meaningful, the things
that are the most real... these are the things we keep locked up. These
are the things we allow the possibility of embarrassment, the fear of
rejection, to keep silent.
We are given so few years on this earth. And every moment is a gift that could be the
last one. We very often tells each other that “you are an idiot” or “you worth
for nothing”, it just because even we love but don’t want them to realize that.
Even though we tell that you don’t worth it may be the precious person to you.
And we keep hidden all the “I love you’s” and the “you are special to me”. I
have realized that we should not wait to say what we feel and give our voice to your heart
without any fear.
It seems like everyone of us
entered to our office cabin little earlier. After the exams got finished it was
a drastic change to our life that we began to have formal in our life. Life got
a new twist, now I and all my friends are busy with our job, and just before
that last exam we were like a free bird. We supposed to go anyplace which pop
up to our mind, and all were enthusiastic to travel. But this enthusiasm or it can be say that the
OUR chemistry has began to fade. This weekend trip actually was to rendezvous ourselves and to get away from the new routine.
We decided to bust out to Mussoorie on 05 Aug 2011 and as always Sandy was the
first to give his thumps down. Aswathy was dizzy and as expected she also step
back from this trip, and after everything was said and done Rahul canceled the
trip at the last minute because his sister got an accident that day. Eventually, to board the train to Dehradun
there was only 5 of us remaining; Vicky, shanky, bhavna, raveena and me. We get
into our train and where off at mid night. As it was late night and as it ws AC
compartment we can’t speak lound as every other passengers already slept.
Early morning we reached Dehradun station and we went to Bhavna’s house , there
we fresh up had tea with some snacks. After that Bhavana’s dad took us to the
taxi stand of Dehradun and from there we rented an ambassador taxi for our
trip. The best part of the drive to Mussoorie is that it’s just 34 Km driveway
from Dehradun to Mussoorie. It is an excellent curvy highway with many sharp
cuts and steep climbing which may force you to put your first gear sometime
depending on your vehicle speed just before the steep climb. At many parts of
the road two vehicles from either side of road can barely run parallel.
The scene is breathe-taking to look at the valley below. I would advice
those who are driving should not look to that valley while driving, here always
need to keep your eyes on the road only. There are enough halt points where you
can stop and see the valley below and take nice photographs. You should not
surprise to see clouds coming in front of you or some time you will not be able
to see the valley below as you are above the clouds.
Our room was booked in Hotel Mall Palace, which was located at mall road
itself. The worst part of our trip was that we went on rainy season. Every time
it was raining over there so we had to stay in hotel room itself. Mussoorie –
the city as such was calm and ample place to relax. The city was under British
rule and many buildings and roads were constructed during those
pre-independence times. So everything is done in European style. By
exploring the structures and borders around mall road, it resembles a euro
touch. It will give a feeling of that you are not in India but in Europe.
At evening rain was stop for while and we explored the streets of Mussoorie.
At night, Mussoorie was even more beautiful. The sunset and the dazzling view
of the street lights down in the city center was a real visual treat to the
eyes.
Early morning was really so gracious. I woke up and went to see the beauty of
Mussoorie outside our balcony and was so eye catching one, suddenly I gear up
for a walk around the hills. Before going for the I called by everyone to see
the majestic morning but all were so lazy and were just crawling with their
pillows, but I didn’t insist them. I was really in a thrill mood to have a walk
in such a great ambience and just switch the best in me and went off. After
getting out of our hotel I had no idea where to go and I just start walking
through the road. Suddenly found an adjacent not and I start walking through
that road which was non paved road as I want to see things which was less
explored by others, and that road was so lonely. After having few walk I got
see a back road and in which people were jogging and walking. This stretch of
road was very long to me as I was new to this place and I don’t know where the
road is going, and so I was alone this road was not ending also.
While walking I came across a cemetery which tasted like a horror instinct. The
place was locked and isolated. The cemetery was full of mosses as there was
lots of rain over der. Just near to this cemetery there was an ashram devotees
were paying their visit over there for rejuvenating their mind and soul. After
having some snaps of that cemetery I start walking and halted at Hawa mahal,
morning walkers were having their yoga over there and I also sit over there for
a while. The place was so cool and the whole landscape was stunning as sunlight
was rendering with the hills. After having some relaxation to my mind I resume
my walk and reached mall road and I get into a tea stall to have some sizzling
pakkoras and tea. After finishing my tea I went back to our hotel and it was
around 9 o clock and still everyone were sleeping. I woke every one and we got
ready to check out from the hotel. After we get ready we checked out from our
hotel and we went for shopping. After the shopping we catch a taxi and went
back to Dehradun were we had to catch our shatabdi at 5 O’ clock.
Mussoorie is a
very good destination for weekend getaway. As it is just 230 Kms from Delhi you
can easily reach by car or it is a better option to catch shatabdi from delhi
and reach Dehradun and then just took taxi or bus from Dehradun. Taxis and
buses are available throughout the hill frequently. Mall road is having very
nice scenery, and as for my personal opinion would suggest taking a hotel in
mall road itself for better view and for better accessibility.
Mussoorie has a lot to offer to everyone. A 34 km winding drive from
Dehradun takes you to its lap. Located on the Garhwal Hills, the hill resort
juts out like a little paradise from a hilltop. The place seems like a unique
mosaic of antiquity, mysticism and various hues. The major attractions which we
actually missed due to rain was Lal
Tibba, Gun Hill, Kempty Falls, Municipal Gardens, Jharipani Falls and Bhatta
Falls, Jwalaji Temple, Mussoorie Lake, Van Chetna Kendra.
2011 was a wonderful year to me as well as my friends, because we spent a lot of memorable time with each other. While completing our P.G Tourism from Sri Venkateswara College we had lots of fun. Best part of this academic year was our trip to Pachmarhi. This beautiful hill station is located at Madhya Pradesh (India). Pachmarhi is the only hill station of Madhya Pradesh. Pachmarhi situated on a large plateau ringed by hills on the evergreen central Satpura ranges, is known as the Queen of Satpura for its spectacular beauty. The hill station at a height 3550 ft. is located in Hoshangabad district, Madhya Pradesh. The place is surrounded by low lying rugged hills, ravines, beautiful forests, 12 breathtaking waterfalls, serene pools and quiet glades.
The saucer shaped valley of Pachmarhi, was discovered by Captain James Forsyth of the Bengal Lancers in 1857, and was developed as a sanatorium for the British troops. Dense forests and its inaccessibility for normal person had made it a safe place for hideout for freedom fighters like Rani Jhansi, Tatya Topa etc. Presence of 5 ancient caves had made it famous with the name of Pachmarhi where “Panch” means five and”Marhi” means caves. Its scenic beauty and climate had made it popular among Britishers during pre-independence era in summer season. The valley with it’s ‘not too cold but pleasant weather’ served as the summer capital of the central provinces during the British regime. The Victorian churches, bungalows and cemeteries left behind bring back remnants of the colonial past.
Feb-12-2011 we were off to Madhya Pradesh, before we left to board our train we didn’t realize that our trip may be that much exiting one which I still remember. If anyone asks us that which was your most memorable part of your college life, I bet that all will say the trip to Pachmarhi! Our train Bhopal Express Train No: 5432 was at 8: 00 pm and for that first Shanky reached my house by around 5:00 and we went to buy some snacks and stuff for our trip. As per plan Booze arrangements were to be done by Vikram, Sandeep & Shakeb. They arrived at my house and we all had a small shot of Vodka before going to station. After that all of us went to Hazarat Nizamudin railway station where rest of our mates was waiting. Raveena, Bhavana, Manisha and Aswathy along with her family were waiting for us in entry gate itself. After we reached we all went to platform No: 5, were our train supposed to come. As we were waiting for the arrival of our train our sir Mr. Alok Srivastava, who was accompanying us came and hand over our tickets and give some instructions but the all instructions were simply waste as none of us were in a condition to obey rules. We were so excited that while travelling, our co-passengers were simply tired of us and wanted to get rid of us as soon as possible.
By around 8:00 our train reached and we got into it and we all were waiting for it to move. Raveena was much excited about this trip because she was travelling by train for the first time, Aswathy’s father and sister were there to send off her. Suddenly the train started moving after all the ta!ta! Bye-bye was done. We all became free from our daily busy studying environment and finally our trip started. I would say that it was our Sir’s bad luck that he booked his berth in AC compartment and ours in sleeper, and so he missed all the fun we had. Soon after ticket checker came and checked our tickets Shanky opened the bottle of Magic Moments and soon the magic started. We started sharing our jokes and thoughts and all were in full swing. For the first time we got an opportunity to watch train yoga which was presented by Shakeb. And for that whole night Shakeb was meditating on his berth, but for what and why he was meditating is still a mystery to us as well as to him. Our talks and laugh become nuisance to other as it was late around 3 O’clock we decided to take a break.
Early morning at 6 O’ clock we reached Bhopal. Our trip was arranged by a tour operator of Junoon Travels, Mr. Tamatar(tomato), who was waiting for us at the platform. He welcomed us with bocce of rose and he explained us about the itinerary and gave little introduction about Madya Pradesh. After getting fresh we get into the Tavera. For local sightseeing and transfers an Indica and a Tavera was arranged. Our driver, Panditji was really a nice guy. In Bhopal’s Indian Coffee House we had our breakfast. After having our breakfast we went to our first destination which was enroute Pachmarhi, an historical place called Bhimbetka. It took around 1 and a half hour from Bhopal to reach bhimbetka. Before reaching over there, there was a railway crossing and as the Fatak was closed we had to wait for around 10 mins there and we explored the beautiful scenery of that place which was amazing with green farm land.
At Bhimbetka we saw lots of rock shelters which were occupied by the early man, and life depicted in paintings. The Bhimbetaka Rock Shelters are a credible source of information about the pre-historic life of Indian civilization. These paintings boasts of the societal life of the people lived in that era. Mr. Tamatar explained everything so nicely and these rock shelters are included in the prestigious world heritage site lists of the UNESCO. The entire area is covered by substantial vegetation, has copious natural resources, natural shelters, with perennial water supplies. Bimbetka Rock shelters are classified as Lakha Juar group and Bhimbetka group, which depict an incessant progression of Stone Age cultures. These shelters are acclaimed as the oldest stone floors and wall in the entire world itself. The outstanding feature of this rock shelters are its downy nature with implausible contour, stunning tinges and feels.
The rock shelters and caves of Bhimbetka have a number of interesting paintings which depict the lives and times of the people who lived in the caves. We saw the lovely paintings and sculptures there and all of them depicted dancing, hunting, horse riding, animal fighting and many household scenes. It was nice to see the disguises and the honey collection, and also the decoration of bodies. Then there were animals like the wild boars, tigers, bison, elephants, lions, dogs, antelopes, crocodiles and lizards that were depicted. There were many symbols which pertained to popular rituals. We took lots of Pics and we spend around 2:30 hours in Bhimbetka and we left to Pachmarhi. Pachmarhi was around 160 kms away from Bhimbetka, we had our lunch in a restaurant at Piparia.
Our rooms were booked in Pachmarhi, at a hotel named Misty Meadows. We reached the hotel around 4 O’ clock and we all get fresh and went to explore the market and surroundings of Pachmarhi city and also we went to Pachmarhi Lake. After having some fun and click shots over there we came back to our room and had our dinner. Then in our room we were having some chit chats and that night’s show stopper was the classic Teachers, which rocked the party with just 3 pegs(for some it was never-ending). We all started shouting and made the ambiance so energetic, our main motive was to make the night most memorable but it not only became memorable to us but also to the couples who were enjoying their honeymoon turned to a hell just staying next to our room. And we were advised from the hotel staff to be silent as others were complaining. And as all were tiered we decided to sleep. The main part of this night was that we all get to know each other well.
Early morning we woke up out of bed and all were so excited to visit and crawl down the caves. We all get fresh up and get ready for the day, as it was decided that we will be having our bath in the waterfall so we had our breakfast fast. In breakfast we had aloo paratha with curd and pickle and having cup of tea we rush to our tavera and we went to Jatashankar temple. Jatasankar is a sacred cave under a mass of loose boulders situated 1.5 km from the bus stand in Pachmarhi town. As it is not possible to drive over there we have to walk and explore the temple by foot only. The temple was located at around 100 Ft down and we has to get down by stairs, Bhavana and Alok sir was not interested in visiting Jata Shankar infact Bhavna was feared of heights, so they were waiting above and the rest of us went down into the temple. The 'samadhistha Shiva' under a natural formation that resembles the hood of a giant serpent in the cool dark cave is a place of abiding sanctity and the striking rock faces is a wonder of nature. The name 'Jatasankar' itself is derived from a rock formation resembling the matted locks of Lord Shiva. The cool waters of Jambu Dwip stream take its source from this cave. The overcastting little rocks, many of them hanging precariously between the huge walls of rock cutting changes color from green to golden yellow when light reflects on them. The place has a serenity about it which could attract tourists. On the way to JataShankar, there is a temple of lord Hanuman, in which the idol has been carved out of a piece of rock. While coming back you will find lots of vendors selling ayurvedic medicines and honey which are famous of Pachmarhi, this are made by the tribes of nearby forest of Satpura ranges.
After this we went to visit Bee Fall, the best destination as well as most awaited place of the trip. Bee fall was really awesome, Situated only 3 km from the town, Bee fall is a sensational water fall in the stream which provides drinking water to Pachmarhi, as our tavera was not allowed to go after certain point so we got there by a Jeep. By that open jeep we explored not only a glimpse of the fall from above, but also the beautiful scenery as well. The bathing pools here are very popular. There is half a kilometer pathway down to the fall. We all get down through the path and get into the pool. The water falling from the top is so chilled that when it touches the body it feels like a bee-sting, that the reason why it named as bee fall. It was really great fun in the pool, and as the water was so cold that one can’t stay long inside the pool. After the Great Bath we were getting ready go back to our room, after that we left to our hotel and we had our lunch after that we went to see the sunset point at Dhoopgarh.
On the way to Dhoopgarh we go to explore a cave Bhrant Neer which was also known as Dorothy deep. This cave is depicting of animal paintings. At the time of excavation in 1930s, many microlith and pottery shards are found. The cave was similar to Bhimbetka. As it was said that we have to trek as well as crawl and all Bhavna stayed in the car itself, but we went. Here Shakeb lost his Ray Ban aviator and he became tensed. There was no lights in the cave so it was very difficult to find, even though we started searching for his glass and at last Sandeep found it but he didn’t gave it to him. We started playing prank with him and at last he began to cry then he gave him back his glasses.
After playing prank we left to the sunset point at Dhoopgarh which was the highest point in Pachmarhi.
Earlier it was called as Harvatsa Kot. Here people came to enjoy the view of sunrise and sunset from this point. Nobody missed the chance to be in dialogue with the sun god, when it is innocently cool. Dhoopgarh is 4429 feet above the mean sea level. Once you are stop you desire to stay there forever. To see the sun rising and setting is unique experience beyond verbal expression. From the top we get explore full landscape of pachmarhi. There is a museum which was a hub of detailed information about pachmarhi with wonderful photographs of each surrounding destinations. The sunset was really astonishing and we had taken lots of photographs as the scenic beauty was really wonderful. Here we got an opportunity to see sunset in different phase as we got to see sun setting for 4 times, (a geographical phenomena).
After sunset we were going back to our hotel and Alok Sir was sitting in front of the jeep and we were having some chit chat. When shanky lighted his cigarette spark fall at Alok sir’s trouser and he got really panic at that moment, and which made all of us laugh for a while. When we reached hotel, Alok sir announced that he is going to organize a gala night for us. We were surprised as well as exited by hearing that news. We had some fun in the garden by riding cycles and swinging and all. After having fun in the garden all get ready for the party. We reached at the party Alok sir was at his full mood. Alok sir had made all the arrangements for the party.
There was bon-fire with chairs surrounded by it, Dj was playing there was snacks and beverage stall and started the party with a cheers. All started dancing and the ambiance was really energetic, all were coming in their mood. Alok sir started making drinks for us and our driver panditji also joined the party as he didn’t drink but danced and enjoyed the night. There was a special dance by shakeb being topless. Our party came to end when vikram started vomiting. He was flat, I took him to the washroom and simply put him into the bathtub. He was sleeping there for around 1 hour and by that all abounded the party and came back to the room. Bhavna also got crazy after her 2 shots of vodka; she started telling her emotional story and started being flirting. Somehow we made her sleep and all of us also went to sleep.
After a hangover we woke little late by around 10’O clock and all of us got fresh up and we packed up our luggage as it was our last day in Pachmarhi. After having our breakfast we went to visit Handi Khoh , it’s An imposing canyon with a 300 feet high crag amidst a dense forest, Handi Khoh in Panchmarhi is endowed with marvelous scenery. The clinging rock face of this gulch is a haven of large beehives. Bounded by a deep woody forest, this lovely place is closely associated with Lord Shiva. The popular belief is that Handi Khoh was a lake earlier. An evil snake, which actually was a demon, was guarding the lake. Lord Shiva killed the snake and the fury of the divine battle dried up the water in the lake and the empty space assumed the shape of a handi (pot). The locals used to call it Andhi Kho that later took its present name. A magnificent ravine, Handi Khoh is a recommended place for those who love to be in a lonely place, where one could hear only the buzz of gushing water. Here there was a game stall in which we have to aim on a bottle with gullel, and only Alok sir won that competition.
Priyadarshini point, formerly known as Forsyth point, named after Captain James Forsyth of the Bengal Lancers who discovered the valley in 1857, from this point. The view from this point is spectacular especially at sunset, when the three dominating peaks; Chauradeo to the left, Mahadeo in the centre and Dhupgarh, the highest point in the Satpura ranges to the right; appear glowing red and fiery in the setting sun against the purple background of the sky.
After Priyadarshini point we went back to our hotel and as our bags were packed we checked out from hotel and had our lunch and said good bye to Hotel Misty Meadows. All of us were playing anthakshani on the way back to our railway station. As we reached near Bhopal we became dizzy as well as, we not at all want to go back Delhi. Our train was departing at 8:00 pm and we reached there around 7:30 and we had our dinner from Rush n Bite from Bhopal railway station. We get into the train and our 3 seats were far but somehow we manage to sit together.
Finally, the trip was coming to an end. We were not ready to accept this reality since we had such a lovely time. At the beginning of the trip we all were all acquaintance and by the end we became friends. Some of us were sleeping, some were drinking, some wanted to cry but were content, the trip was moving towards its last segment but there was something unique at this time. A vague silence, as if troops have lost the battle…….it is unexplainable! But, this is life, and as King Solomon quoted, ‘to everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to weep, and a time to laugh….’
Oh when I look back now
That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Yeah, I'd always want to be there
Those were the best days of my life
Bryan Adams (Summer of ’69)
This was a great and memorable trip that none of us will and can never forget. Till this date when most of us are busy working for the daily bread this trip is the wine that helps us enjoy the meal.
